Birding

Hotel Palomé is located next to the Valls del Comapedrosa Natural Park, the highest peak in Andorra. Thus, our guests can enjoy a beautiful natural park, as if it were the hotel’s playground, where they can practice leisure activities.

The park is full of interesting places to observe vertebrate wildlife. But the most important thing is birdwatching along the paths of the park.

What’s more, right next to the hotel, on the Palomer path, is a mixed deciduous forest, traversed by a stream, with Scots pine and fir forests. There are several typical low-lying birds such as the bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula), the garden warbler (Sylvia borin), the blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), the chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybyta), the western Bonelli's warbler (Phylloscopus bonelli), the firecrest (Regulus ignicapillus) and the long-tailed tit (Aegithalos caudatus).

In this place, as well as in the vicinity of the establishment or entering the park, you can see other species such as the white wagtail (Motacilla alba), the robin (Erithacus rubecula), the blue tit (Parus caeruleus),.the great tit (Parus major), the serin (Serinus serinus) and the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis). Other well-represented species, which breed in nearby buildings, are the crag martin (Ptyonoprogne rupestris) and the common house martin (Delichon urbicum). In the river courses, such as the Pollós river that runs along the hotel, live the dipper (Cinclus cinclus) and the grey wagtail (Motacilla cinerea).

The summer activities we offer include ornithological outings, with an ornithological tourism guide and bird watching equipment.
